China Bound!

So I am off to China! My husband's ship is pulling into Hong Kong for a bit and I am going to meet him there :) A friend from college is flying out from Texas (at this very moment) and will be going with me on this lovely adventure. We leave the house at 4:30am on Thanksgiving Day and are first going to Hong Kong for a few days to visit Brian. After Hong Kong, Kristan and I will be moving on to Beijing to see the many sites! I am excited for everything, but I must say the Great Wall has got me the most excited.

For all you in Japan, I know this isn't the best timing as so many still need family portraits done (especially now that so many ships are back!). I will be back in town on December 6th though so if you want to do family portraits still just let me know and we'll schedule it.

I will be taking millions of pictures on this trip so look forward to some awesome pictures coming your way!

Rivassorto Family

This is the Rivassorto family. It's always a good time when there is one baby we can focus all our energy into :) At the beginning of the shoot we practically had a zombie baby. She had just woke up from her nap and wasn't too sure about having a camera in her face, but leave it to daddy to get the smiles to come out! Once daddy got her going it was easier for me to get her to smile, but we had to do some pics with mommy first and daddy making silly noises behind me to work out the kinks. It was lots of fun though and we all had a good time.

Below is the look she gave me most of the time. It wasn't until daddy loosened her up that she started to smile and get out of her sleepy zone. Pretty cute!

PAWS

Soooo, I volunteer my photography services to the PAWS Animal Shelter here on base. It is a wonderful shelter and they do an amazing job taking care of all the animals that come through. It's not something that many people think about, but there are A LOT of animals that get dumped by people who come and go from here. It is very sad and sometimes it seems like PAWS is a "rent-a-pet" place with how many times they see the same animal come in over the years...but they do the best they can to take care of the animals and find them good, loving, lasting homes. Personally, I think they do a fantastic job! Especially when you consider they are all volunteer and come and go with the rest of us.

So here are some pics from this weeks kittens :) I went in the kitten room to find everyone sleeping together. SO STINKIN' CUTE! They all woke up and wanted to climb all over me :)

Roger Luca

Alright ladies... this is Roger Luca. He is an aspiring model and needed some good headshots to send off to the modeling agencies. Definitely has potential I'd say :) We had a lot of fun at the shoot, plenty of joking and laughing. My favorite part though was as we are laughing I would say, "Ok, no give me your serious face..." Then, instantly he would flash his GQ look. It was perfect and luckily I held in the laughter long enough to catch it first :) The shots in the blue shirt and tie are my favorite, I uploaded them out of order on accident, but my fav's are at the bottom.

Porter Family

This is the Porter family. Super cute little girls. The baby, at only 3 weeks old was pretty much sleeping the whole time. Good baby :) Jersey, the other little girl, had lots of fun playing peek-a-boo with me and the camera. It definitely turned into a game and she enjoyed posing for one shot and running to the other side of the room and then run back in and pose for one shot.... very cute :) I much prefer a happy energized little girl like Jersey to a crying one that sits still. They were all great to work with and we had a good time.

Seriously, how cute is this couple?

The Foutz Family

Let me introduce you to the lovely Foutz family. The Foutz's and I have had to reschedule several times due to the unpredictability of illness and the military, but I am happy to say we had success! We had a wonderful session at the Ikego Campgrounds on Sunday. Such a wonderful family, it was well worth the wait to photograph them :) One of my favorite things about photography is photographing families and seeing all the love. I know it is not always gushing forth in life, but I am lucky to get to capture it when it does :) And this family was definitely feelin' the love on Sunday :)

Alex above smiles just like his dad, so cute! And below, their daughter is absolutely beautiful. Such a sweetheart, I know her dad will have a hard time keepin' the boys away when she hits high school :)
And this little guy... just look at him! Doesn't he look like bundles of fun? He was definitely lots of fun, and even though he was rambunctious we were able to get him to sit still for a few shots :)

Can't you feel the love? So precious...

The Espenscheid Family

Three boys and one girl... you'd think this little girl would love the attention of getting her picture taken, and though in these pictures she looks like she is having a great time, note the lollipop in her hand :) She absolutely did not want her picture taken :( She got very excited to look at pictures of her brothers, but as soon as we went to snap one of her it was just not going to happen... Above is a smile for daddy and below is the "wait a minute, she's still here" look. Daddy definitely has one up on me :) All in all it was a god time and we definitely got some great things out of it.

This below just might be my all time favorite baby picture! He looks like an angry baby and it just makes me laugh, I love it! Seriously though, he was the most mellow baby ever, and so easy to photograph.

And just one more... "I don't think I like you misses photographer lady" look. Actually I would like to clarify... I could get her to smile if the camera wasn't in my face, so it wasn't me she didn't like, it was only the camera :)
